Density
Anton Paar density transmitters and density transducers are ideal instruments for on-line ethylene glycol monitoring.
Anton Paar density measurement uses a new type of oscillating U-tube. The instruments measure the change in oscillating frequency rather than the change in deflection used by other types of density meters; this provides a signal that is approximately 10x more sensitive than a change in deflection.
Refractive Index
Refractive index is one of the characteristic properties of a material, and because it varies with density, it can be used to measure the concentration of ethylene glycol. Atago refractometers are installed in-line, and measurement is not influenced by coloration, viscosity or pressure.
