On-line LNG Plant Monitoring and Analysis
The Applied Analytics on-line UV/VIS/IR analyser (OMA-300) can be used at all stages of the LNG production process, as shown in this diagram, listed here:
- Primary Separator
- Feed Gas — H2S, RSH, CO2
- Water Stream — Dissolved H2S, RSH, CO2
- Condensate Stream — H2S, RSH, CO2
- Secondary Separator
- Sour Gas — H2S, RSH, CO2
- Sour Water Stream — Dissolved H2S, RSH, CO2
- Sour Water Stripper — High conc (%) & low conc (ppm) H2S
- Sweet Gas (Absorber Outlet) — Low conc (ppm) H2S & CO2
- Absorber - Rich Amine — % H2S & CO2 in solvent
The OMA-300 is a diode-array fiber-optics process spectrophotometer, continuously measuring the absorbance spectra of the sample. It is constructed of a light source, a dispersion device to select a particular wavelength, a sample area, and a detector. The OMA uses a tungsten, xenon or deuterium light source (depending on application), a holographic grating to disperse the light according to its wavelength, a fiber optics probe to transfer the light to and from the sample and a diode array detector which converts the light intensity into electrical signal. A full spectrum is continuously measured and analyzed, via a multi wavelength method, to give the composition of the stream.
