Control System Functional Specification
Arguably the most important part of a systems integration project is the development of a proper unambiguous functional specification. An unambiguous functional specification ensures that the customer, the design engineers and the programmers do exactly know what tasks and functions the control system has to execute.
Strangely, we find that many customers do not understand the importance of a functional specification and that they do not spend enough time in the reviewing and commenting on the functional specification. In our view it is the customer who best knows his process. The best functional specifications are those developed by a joint effort of the customer's engineers and our engineers.
B-R Controls is experienced in defining customer's requirements for the control system and to obtain all relevant data from the customer before starting the design. Over the years we have developed our own specification format that we can use, or we can use the customers specification. Our engineers have experience with the control of many industrial processes. Our understanding of the process ensures that an accurate specification can be developed.
