Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

B-R Controls has experience in the design and installation of MES, including systems that implement only a part of an MES solution, but can be expanded to become a full MES as your needs grow. We provide software solutions for the integration of process control systems and business systems. We also provide plant-wide reporting systems using a relational (SQL) database.

Why an MES?

An MES is the missing link in plant automation, that integrates process control systems and business systems. An MES aims to electronically control, track and report all aspects of a production order in real time, while it is in the execution phase. The MES achieves this by automating the data transfer between ERP systems and the plant floor.

An MES also aims to eliminate manual data transfer and manual data entry. Data is collected from the various parts of the plant and is stored in a common data repository. From the integration of data in the repository that would otherwise be spread in various systems throughout the plant, and MES is able to provide new plant performance data.

MES benefits companies who have a Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) program in place. An MES system provides the performance analysis tools to measure the efficiency gains that are achieved by the improvements put in place.
